Skin Problem

Skin, the body’s biggest organ, is highly fragile. There are many triggers that can cause the skin to develop certain skin problem such as acne, dry skin, eczema, skin blemishes, rosacea, melasma, dermatitis, and psoriasis. Amongst these problems, acne is probably the most common, followed by dry skin. Acne is caused by an increase in production of hormones, and hence found in most teenagers and even in some adults. Main symptoms of this particular skin problem include reddened skin, inflamed bumps called papules, whiteheads and blackheads, comedones and deep tender nodules under the skin. Dry skin, sometimes known as winter itch, cause the skin to be especially dry, flacky, itchy, and in more severe problem, to crack or even bleed.

skin problemEczema is another skin problem shown by flaking and itching, redness, swelling, irritation and inflammation. Topical steroids applied to the skin can reduce inflammation, however this should be used sparingly and in the shortest period possible. Eczema can be treated by anti-fungal creams or phototherapy. Rosacea is a particular skin problem shown by redness and flushing on the face or neck. The redness may be taken care of by using antibiotic creams or pills, but more advanced stage of rosacea may need to be dealt with surgery or other treatments.

Given the variety of skin problem, it is understandable that pills, harmful cleanser, or even skin creams bought over the counter may not be able to solve all of these problems. This kind of treaments is temporary with a possibility of harmful side effects in a long run. It is just not enough to focus on the symptoms, but it can be much more effective to know the root cause of the problems. Finding the cause is not easy, though, because there are many to consider. Being keen and observant to detect primary cause that trigger the problem is necessary. There are unexpectable common causes to create skin problem, such as climate or weather, unhealthy foods, shower gel and skin creams that contain chemicals, cleaning products, detergent products, perfume and other scents, and many others. Once the cause is identifieid, it should be eliminated. After that, skin problem can be treated and if necessary can be healed with topical application treatment such as natural cream.

Acne Scars Laser

Generally, acne scars are not reversible; however, these scars are removable through some treatments such as acne scars laser. Acne scars laser treatment is usually intended for shallow and deep scars due to acne. In most cases though, it is not recommended for those with active acne.

acne scars laserAcne scars laser treatment uses low-divergence radiation or beam through “stimulated emission” which is applied to the affected areas. This will effectively burn out scars within seconds of exposure. The burning process would create mild wounds, which, fortunately, in most cases would not cause bleeding. The burning sensation caused by the strong laser beam is usually relieved by means of cooling sprays. The healed wounds would reveal fresh cells which would be scar free. The treatment does not only burn out scars, but it also kills the bacteria that cause acne, and retards the operation of sebaceous glands that produce sebum, the oily substance that produces acne.

Some tools like pen devices are used during acne scars laser treatment. Special lenses are used to control the beam. There are two types of laser beams are used: erbium YAG laser and carbon dioxide laser. The latter is the modern type of laser treatment that has replaced the former. The intensity level of the beam is adjustable to match the condition of the scars that have to be treated. For instance, deep scars require higher intensity levels than those with mild surface scars. The number of sessions required is dictated by the severity of the acne scars and the skin type. It is rare to get scar free skin in one session of acne scars laser treatment.

It should be bear in mind that here are risks or side effects due to this kind of treatment. For instance, if it was not done properly it may cause skin irritation, thermal damage to the skin, hyperpigmented macules (spots), changes in the pigmentation or even long-term dryness of the skin. The treatment may not be suitable for the faint-hearted people because it causes a lot of mess in form of blood effusion. The peeled skin may become raw and red and causes pain for quite some times. Further acne on laser treated areas can worsen the condition.

Despite these side effects, however, acne scars laser treatment is considered quite efficacious for removing acne scars.
