Facial Rejuvenation
Facial rejuvenation is used to describe any kinds of treatment to restore facial skin to a youthful condition. For some people, facial rejuvenation is becoming more important as they grow older because in the aging process the body stop producing enough collagen and elastin needed to maintain healthy and flexible facial skin. As a result, signs of ageing like wrinkles, sagging skin, and age spots start appearing. Other reasons may have been responsible for these signs of ageing: improper diet, harmful skin care products, excessive smoking, skin disorders, acne, and genetics. The problem is aggravated by excessive exposure of skin to sun, wind, heat, cold, and pollution. Facial rejuvenation aims at returning facial skin to a firm, blemish free, wrinkle free and clear appearance.
It should be realised, though, that facial rejuvenation does not, in any ways, make any attempts to stop our face from ageing; what it actually does is actually reducing signs of ageing and wrinkles through skin tightening or skin lifting to revitalize the facial skin surface to a younger condition. Any facial rejuvenation effort will also focus on making young fresh looking eyes because eyes are the first areas on the face to show signs of ageing; it is the first feature people will notice.
The benefit of the facial rejuvenation treatment will vary according to the type of treatment. In general the younger the patient the less invasive the procedure needs to be. And since facial rejuvenation usually involves sophisticated medical and surgical aesthetics procedures, it should be considered as part of overall health care, fitness, and wellness program. Accordingly, the successful results of facial rejuvenation depend on the knowledge and experience of the doctor who performs the procedures.
There are two major categories of facial rejuvenation: surgical and non-surgical methods. Surgery, such as dermabrasion and facelifts, is usually needed if a longer lasting result is required. Surgical facial rejuvenation can be as complex as a full traditional facelift, but there is also a less invasive surgical procedure called MACS-lift, or minimal access cranial suspension-lift, which was first described by two Belgian plastic surgeons in 1999. MACS-lift uses incision made around the sideburn and in the crease in front of the ear; the incision is smaller than that with a traditional face lift. Since the procedure is less invasive, a patient can expect less bleeding and bruising.
Newer methods of facial rejuvenation are non surgical which do not require incisions or anaesthesia but use different injectable fillers to create uplift and to fill in contour depressions. It is considered very practical for most people due to the absence of surgical procedure, however the result is only short lived of up to one year or longer if lucky. There are some routines beneficial to facial rejuvenation, though: eating lots of fruits and drinking enough water are few of such routines. Combined with the application of facial rejuvenation product, the process of facial rejuvenation is sped up tremendously. It should be noted that the products must contain neither natural ingredients with no preservatives nor synthetic manmade ingredients which can be very hazardous.
